Goal Setting.

It’s been said that successful people are those who have definite goals, written down and constantly reviewed. It’s also been said that the difference between millionaires and billionaires are that millionaires write down their goals and review them daily, whilst billionaires write down their goals and revisit them twice daily.

Goal Setting is a powerful skill and can be utilised by all people in any walk of life. Goals are what enable people to move forward in their life. Without them, you’ll more than likely drift aimlessly and get to the end of your life not having accomplished what you wanted to.

In order to effectively set goals, you’ll need to overcome such factors including change (and it’s difficulty), your unbearable feeling, your identity (for how can you set goals if you don’t even know who you are?), remember that vague goals are de-motivating, and pride issues (for example, are you prepared to be on the bottom rung again?).

Another point to consider – your goals should serve you, not you them. You are the master, not the goals. Your goals must be specific, yet still flexible. Also remember, it’s normally best to work smarter, not simply harder.

Goal Setting. It doesn’t come naturally and isn’t a skill learnt with much effectiveness on the ‘road of life’. Learning this skill can open up a world of possibilities for you. A couple of sessions of counselling in this area could be the best investment you’ll ever make.
