General relationship issues can cause stress and concern if left undealt with. Sometimes people simply lack the interpersonal skills, such as effective communication and negotiation, to cope successfully. These skills can be easily learnt however, and can result in completely transformed relationships.
A good point to remember is that the only person you are guaranteed to be able to change is yourself. However, a sign of mental and emotional health is that you have peace, worth and identity regardless of the circumstances you find yourself in.
Many people spend weeks, months and years in relationships, either friendship, work or other, that are unfruitful or cause them pain. There is no need to endure this, if only you’re open to learning some new skills.
It’s not a sign of personal failure to need to see a counsellor in order to learn new skills, In fact, it’s a sign of strength.
